Hilma af Klint's work Tree of Knowledge was a return to the theme of the beginning of the world. With its detailed and ornate rendering, curved lines, color palette, and motifs drawn from nature, the painting recalls art nouveau patterns. Klint would use vectors to map the movement of forces through space reminiscent of scientific diagrams.
