What set the Bauhaus school apart wasn't so much what they studied, but their new ideas about how to teach and learn. The essence of this philosophy is set out in their conceptual diagram curriculum showing the structure of teaching at the Bauhaus that was developed by Walter Gropius in 1922.
The front of this garment features an embroidered minimal interpretation of the original Principles and Curriculum Diagram that investigated what Bauhaus masters considered to be the fundamentals of any artistic endeavor, whether applied or fine. The official Bauhaus seal, designed by Oskar Schlemmer, is mirrored in embroidery on the garment's back.
