THE CONCEPT

Dada-ism emerged as an avant-garde movement in response to the post-World War I European society. It boldly rejected modern capitalism, bourgeois culture, and wartime politics, aligning itself with other radical groups. Dadaists expressed their defiance through unconventional art materials, satire, and absurd content. The very name of the movement, 'dada', was intentionally meaningless, embodying its spirit of rebellion against conventional norms.
